Vehicle Sales Terms & Conditions
The terms that apply when you buy a vehicle from REV.
Introduction
These terms apply to the sale of vehicles by REV LTD (Company No. 16158585), Unit 1 East Hall Lane, Rainham, RM13 9DS, United Kingdom ("REV", "we", "us"). By purchasing a vehicle from us, you agree to these terms.
Nothing in these terms reduces or removes your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable UK consumer protection legislation. For independent advice about your consumer rights, visit the Citizens Advice website at citizensadvice.org.uk.
Vehicle Descriptions & Specifications
We make every effort to ensure vehicle descriptions and specifications on our website are accurate. However, specifications, features and colours may vary. We recommend you inspect the vehicle in person or request a video viewing before purchase. If a vehicle is not as described, you may be entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Pricing
All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors. If a pricing error occurs, we will inform you as soon as possible and offer the option to confirm at the correct price or cancel without penalty.
Availability
A vehicle listed on our website may be available for sale. However, listings are invitations to treat and do not constitute a binding offer until we expressly accept your order or reservation. A vehicle may be sold or reserved by another customer at any time before your purchase is confirmed.
Deposits
A deposit may be required to reserve a vehicle. The deposit terms are set out in our Reservation and Deposit Terms at /reservation-terms. Where a deposit is part of a distance contract, your statutory cancellation rights apply.
Payment
Full payment must be received before the vehicle is released. Payment can be made by bank transfer, debit card or credit card. We do not accept cash for security reasons. If paying by cheque, funds must clear before collection or delivery.
Delivery & Collection
Vehicles can be collected from any REV location by appointment. Delivery may be available for an additional fee, subject to location and vehicle availability. Delivery times are estimates and may vary due to circumstances beyond our control.
Title & Ownership
Ownership of the vehicle passes to you when full payment has been received and cleared funds are in our account. Until that time, the vehicle remains the property of REV. You must insure the vehicle from the point of collection or delivery.
Part Exchange
If you part exchange a vehicle, the part exchange terms at /sell-your-car-terms apply. The part exchange valuation is indicative until confirmed after physical inspection. Any outstanding finance on your part exchange vehicle must be settled before or at the point of sale.
Vehicle Condition
Vehicles are sold with a description of their condition. We do not use wording such as 'sold as seen' to remove your statutory rights. Every vehicle must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Mileage
Mileage is recorded as accurately as possible. We verify mileage through DVSA MOT records where available. If a mileage discrepancy is identified, we will inform you before completing the sale.
Cancellation
Your cancellation rights depend on how you purchased. For distance contracts (online or by telephone), you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days. For in-person purchases, different rules apply. See the Distance and Online Sales section below.
Faulty Vehicles
If a vehicle is faulty, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. These include:
Short-term right to reject: If a fault is present at the time of delivery, you may be entitled to reject the vehicle within 30 days and receive a full refund.
Repair or replacement: If a fault develops, you may be entitled to a repair or replacement.
Final right to reject: If a repair or replacement fails or is not possible, you may be entitled to a refund. A reasonable reduction may be made for use you have had of the vehicle, as permitted by law.
Nothing in these terms reduces or removes your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable UK consumer protection legislation. For independent advice about your consumer rights, visit the Citizens Advice website at citizensadvice.org.uk.
Returns
If you are entitled to reject a vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, we will process your refund promptly. We will not apply an automatic administration charge to a statutory rejection or refund. Any discretionary return offered outside your statutory rights may have separately disclosed conditions.
Distance & Online Sales
For qualifying distance contracts (where you buy online or by telephone without face-to-face contact), you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of receiving the vehicle. To cancel, you must inform us in writing. The vehicle must be returned to us in a reasonable condition. You are responsible for the cost of returning the vehicle, and a reasonable deduction may be made for any use beyond what is necessary to inspect the vehicle. Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned vehicle. This section does not apply where the transaction is not legally a distance contract, for example where you visit our premises and buy in person.
Warranty
Some vehicles are sold with a warranty. Where a warranty applies, the warranty terms at /warranty apply. Warranty rights are in addition to your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and do not replace them.
Liability
We accept liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Subject to this, our liability for losses arising from the sale of a vehicle is limited to the purchase price of the vehicle.
Nothing in these terms reduces or removes your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable UK consumer protection legislation. For independent advice about your consumer rights, visit the Citizens Advice website at citizensadvice.org.uk.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where consumer protection law provides you with the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you reside.
