Reservation & Deposit Terms
How vehicle reservations and deposits work at REV.
About Reservations
These terms apply when you reserve a vehicle with REV LTD (Company No. 16158585), Unit 1 East Hall Lane, Rainham, RM13 9DS, United Kingdom. Nothing in these terms reduces or removes your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable UK consumer protection legislation. For independent advice about your consumer rights, visit the Citizens Advice website at citizensadvice.org.uk.
What a Reservation Deposit Does
A reservation deposit holds a vehicle for you for a set period. It shows your intention to purchase and gives you time to arrange payment, finance or a part exchange. The deposit is not a payment for the vehicle itself.
How Long a Vehicle May Be Held
The hold period is confirmed at the time of reservation. The standard hold period may vary and will be clearly stated before you pay. If the hold period expires and you have not completed the purchase, the reservation may end.
Deposit Contribution to Purchase Price
If you proceed with the purchase, your deposit will be deducted from the total purchase price. The deposit is not an additional charge.
When REV May Cancel or Refund
We may cancel a reservation and refund your deposit if the vehicle becomes unavailable through circumstances beyond our control, such as a prior sale we were unaware of. In such cases, we will notify you promptly and refund your deposit in full.
If You Fail to Complete
If you do not complete the purchase within the hold period, the reservation may end. Whether your deposit is refundable depends on the type of reservation and how it was made. We will always act fairly and in accordance with your statutory rights.
In-Person vs Remote Deposits
Deposits made in person at our premises and deposits made online or by telephone may be subject to different rules. For qualifying distance contracts (online or by telephone), your statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations apply, including the right to cancel within 14 days. We will not treat every online or telephone deposit as automatically non-refundable. Where we incur genuine costs, these will be clearly disclosed and only deducted where the law permits.
Your Statutory Rights
For distance contracts, you may have the right to cancel within 14 days. Nothing in these terms reduces or removes your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable UK consumer protection legislation. For independent advice about your consumer rights, visit the Citizens Advice website at citizensadvice.org.uk.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where consumer protection law provides you with the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you reside.
